The Role:

We wouldn’t be continuing to develop as a business if we didn’t have the best people on our team.  As HR Manager you will be pivotal in helping define and create a culture which fully engages and inspires our people across our network of locations and activities.

You will deliver outstanding customer service through the provision of expert HR support to managers and our teams of people. You will be constantly striving to improve the efficiency and professionalism of working practices to meet business objectives. This is a great opportunity to add value to the company at an important stage of growth and consolidation. Whilst you will have some administrative support this is very much a stand alone role supporting the teams across the network of offices and activities.

Your areas of focus and responsibility will include:

  • As an internal consultant proactively deliver HR operational excellence, advice, solutions and support to all managers and team members on any people related activity throughout the employment life cycle.
  • The recruitment of exceptional people through an effective, professional and positive experience for anyone wanting to join the sales, lettings or land and new homes teams.
  • The provision of an efficient and streamlined process for onboarding and leavers utilising the HR system.
  • The effective delivery of specialist and pragmatic HR advice and support for generalist HR, recruitment, performance management, employment law and employee relations activities;
  • Proactive support and coaching of managers to ensure the development of skills and knowledge in all areas of people management;
  • Part line management and coaching to the Administration Assistant ensuring that key people policies, processes and administrative tasks are consistently, efficiently, and effectively executed in a timely manner;
  • Ensuring any of our people related policies and processes are updated and communicated to enable our people to understand and be aware of the framework we operate within and the behaviours expected;
  • Maximising employee engagement through planned, positive and informative communications and programmes;
  • Production of a monthly dashboard of metrics to capture relevant HR data to help managers make decisions and take any necessary actions.


Ideally with experience in a similar role you should have:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent extensive experience in a standalone or generalist HR role;
  • Strong, generalist HR background;
  • In depth knowledge of employment law and a pragmatic approach in applying this across the business;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people at all levels both internally and externally;
  • Energetic and positive with an analytical approach and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good standard of IT including experience of using MS Office and HR Database;
  • Strong team working orientation with a flexible and adaptable approach to work demands across the whole organisation;
  • A ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Ability to influence and coach managers to assist them in maximising their people management skills;
  • A high degree of resilience.


20-25 Hours per week.
